A visit to my old school, Outram secondary.

Last saturday, i suddenly had thoughts of going back to my old school. My secondary school building where i had spent my 3 years there before it was renovated. All along i had wanted to visit it but i just couldnt find a good chance to do it. Not even on Teacher's Day. What an excuse!

Since I've got my bro's company van that day, there wasn't a better time to do it. It just felt like yesterday as i saw some students with the same old uniform while some wearing the red, blue, yellow PE T-shirts. It just turned my clock 17 years back as an Outramians, so innocent, and worries free.

The first thing when i reached there was to head for the swimming pool. There are so much memories there. We were the famous neighbouring school with a swimming pool then. Everyone were so proud of it. I wanted badly to see how it looked after renovation. There were rumours that it was taken down during renovation. Some that it was renovated with better facilities.

Its still the same. Even the old couple who used to manage the canteen are around. They had aged, but still look as fit as fiddle. I walked to the nearby notice board. There were some old posters dated 1993. LOL.. it wasnt taken down after 15 years, not even after the renovation. Looking at it really bring me back to those times.

I wanted to explore further, I wanted to find some familiar faces. Maybe some teachers who had taught me before or those i had seen before. It was a saturday, maybe there could be lessons or at least some ECAs going on. I walked to the classrooms, offices.. i couldnt find anyone. It was late, 1pm. Maybe everyone had left. Then i saw a light in one of the rooms. I walked slowly towards there and try to make as little noise as possible.

I peeked through the window and i saw Mrs Lui, the home economics teacher. She was known to be a very fierce teacher back then. 10years had past, her look hadn't change at all. I slowly pulled my head back and walked away. I donno her well. In fact i had never spoken to her before. I won't know what to say to her. I rather not struck a conversation. But i am already happy to see a familiar face.

I tried to look around for more things but i was told to leave by the school care-taker. They were closing the school for the day.

What a nice feeling after going back to my school. I think i should organised a small groups of old friends one of these days and visit Outram again...

School assembly area. Renovated.

Swimming pool, the canteen and squash court.
Still remember this spot very clearly. This tree is still there. Growing some fruits which i remembered can be used for medical purposes.

The little shelter is where the swimming canteen is. The old couple are still selling drinks there. They had aged, especially the old man.

Our two squash court are still there, on the right.

The back route where we get to the swimming pool.
They had changed it from a footpath to a road. My PE teacher, Mr Nassim, always made us run up this slope. haha..

Those trees behind, thats why i used to catch my spider to challenge others. haha..

Our famous 70+ staircases, renovated.
There used to be a long staircase leading to the school.. Only crazy people would use it... We got lots of crazy people back then. haha
